UKAF v Halifax RLFC
In preparation for the Rugby League Festival of World Cups in Australia UKAF will play four fixtures ahead of the tournament
The first of these will be against are reserve side from one of the greatest names in the history of the sport Halifax RLFC. The club was formed back in 1873 as a Rugby Union club as, in those days there was no Rugby League until the birth of the game as we know it in 1895.
For 112 years ‘Fax’ played at the Thrum Hall ground before moving to redeveloped Shay Stadium in 1998 to ground share with Halifax Town soccer club.
It is to this venue, now known as the ‘MBI Shay Stadium’ that the UKAF team will travel to take on the Fax reserves as a curtain raiser to the Championship fixture between Halifax and the Swinton Lions. The squad will train ahead of the game at RAF Cranwell before moving to Halifax for the match. The kick off for the match is 1300 ahead of the Halifax v Swinton math which kicks off at 1500
