In their own words St Pats are ‘steeped in over 100 years of history, Wigan St Patricks ARLFC, lives, breathes and sweats Rugby League’ and are ‘probably the most famous amateur rugby league club in the world, providing our community with fantastic Rugby League experiences, on and off the field!’

This will be the third meeting between the two sides with both teams claiming away wins in previous hit ups. The first time the two sides met was in the Powergen Challenge Cup 1st Round in Feb 2006. On the day St Pats were too strong for the Brothers running out 38:16 winners with a brace of try’s for former RNRL Player Mel Alker. Not to be outdone RNRL scrum half Scott Partis bagged two of his own, the first being a 65-yard sprint after intercepting a telegraphed pass which cancelled an early St Pats try. St Pats built on their 20:4 half time lead with three converted scores in the second half, this was matched by two more try’s for the home side including one for Biko Satala on debut.

Another fiercely contested match saw the Brothers come out on top by 36:20, Roko Kurusasa running in 4 try’s on the day. A great team performance on the day by Steve Lockton’s side helped set the Brothers up for a triumphant Inter Services campaign later in the season.
