Next up for the Brothers on 7th March is the annual clash with Great Britain Teachers for the Ian Molyneux GM Shield

This year’s staging of the game sees the venue move across the Pennines to the Bankes Avenue home of Orrell St James ARLFC. Following a short training camp at RNRL HQ the squad led by Head Coach Darren Bamford will travel to Lancashire ahead of the game. This is the first outing since the disappointment of the Challenge Cup and is a great start to the season with Inter Services now the target.

Match details as follows: -
Saturday 7th March
Kick Off 12:30 PM
Orrell St James ARLFC
Bankes Avenue
Orrell
WN5 8HU

This will be the fifth staging of this fixture named in memory of the late Lt Cdr Ian Molyneux GM who lost his life in 2011 onboard HMS Astute. For the record the Brothers have triumphed in all the previous meetings and will look to extend the winning run.

Both Teams are grateful to Match Sponsors the ‘We Remember Submariners’ Charity.
We Remember Submariners (WRS) is a not-for-profit organisation being granted status as a Registered Charity of England & Wales as of December 2017. WRS raise funds through donations, events and the sale of our unique annual Memorial Pins, plus other items of memorabilia, using the funds to provide the following:
Fund and lay wreaths at National Remembrance occasions, as well as wreaths for submarine memorials around the world, laid by WRS Members. Countries include, Australia, Canada, Cyprus, Malta, Singapore, Spain and the USA.

WRS also gifts special memorial pins to the immediate relatives of all deceased submariners. These pins are named ‘Moly’ Pins, in honour of the late Lt Cdr Ian Molyneux RN GM, and feature a wreath of red poppies with a single golden poppy in remembrance of each family’s individual loss. Donations, on a case-by-case basis, to dependent relatives of deceased submariners.

The charity will be present at the match should you wish to find out more and have a chat about the work they do on behalf of the Submarine Community
