Royal Australian Navy Tridents v Royal Navy Brothers - Update

All eyes now on Fridays clash with the Tridents as the 2024 Australian adventure reaches its climax at the 4 Pines Stadium

After a couple of days rehab the Brothers are back in full training in preparation for Fridays showdown against the RAN Tridents. This match will be a curtain raiser for the NRL Fixture between the Manly Sea Eagles and the Parramatta Eels and is part of the Australian national Anzac Day commemorations. The Manly club have posted on socials that there are less than 1000 tickets left for this fixture with the gates opening at 5:15 (local) ahead of the revised kick off time of 5:45. Prior to kick off the national Anthems will be performed by Marni Edmonds from the RAN Band. This is going to be some occasion and a big crowd is expected to be in the 4 Pines early doors to make the most of this unique event.

Both teams suffered defeats over the weekend, the Brothers going down by two points to Coogee Dolphins whilst the Tridents lost by the same margin to the NSW Fire and Rescue service. This will be the 8th time the two sides have met since the first meeting in 2002, RNRL have four wins to the RAN three so it all to play for. The ‘home’ side has proved victorious over the years however the Brothers are determined to change this and maintain the recent dominance of the fixture with the three wins in England in 2018.

This highly anticipated match promises to deliver an evening of intense competition and camaraderie, showcasing the best of military sportsmanship on the Rugby League field. Both teams have been honing their skills and strategies for this exciting encounter, making it a showdown not to be missed. The Tridents team will be aiming to secure a decisive victory on home turf. It will coincide with NRL’s Anzac Day round in which will be much more than just a match as this will preclude a service to remember and commemorate those who fought and served for our country in war and peace. . RN Head Coach Darren Bamford will be looking closely at his squad over the next couple of days to select his 20 man squad for the game. The match will be played over 35 minutes per half and the coaches can use unlimited subs from the named squads.
