Preparations are well advanced within the camps with the initial squad lists being finalised by the respective team managers. This year’s team managers are both ‘Clubz’, Luke Warrington for the Maroons and Anthony ‘Unders’ Underwood for the Blues. Luke led the Academy squad to the IS Title in last year’s series whilst ‘Unders’ has been prominent behind the scenes with the Seniors for several years and toured to Australia last month.
RNRL is extremely grateful to our friends at Ince Rose Bridge ARLFC for hosting our Origin match especially as they have a crucial NCL Div 1 clash with Hull Dockers immediately after the Origin fixture

Despite a new venue for this eagerly anticipated highlight of our calendar the format remains the same, the UK being split north to south to establish the Eastern Commands and Western Commands sides. The 2024 Origin clash is once again being sponsored by the QinetiQ group and we are grateful for their continued support of this highlight of the RNRL Calendar.

This is the 20th Origin fixture with the Blues of the Eastern Commands holding a dominant lead in matches played over the Maroons of the Western Commands. Currently the Easts have 13 wins to the Wests 6 so the Wests will be keen to redress the balance whilst the Easts will be equally keen to maintain the dominance. The back story, of course, to this fixture is the opportunity for all players to stake their claim for a place in the Inter Services sides for the September series.
