The visit was arranged by Head Coach Steve Lockton along with Lodge Staff and former RN PTI Dave Pepper. The Tudor Lodge Home is adjacent to HMS Collingwood and numbers many service veterans amongst its residents who were all keen to swap stories of their experiences in the three service arms.
The residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed the visit and it is hoped to make further visits throughout the year. Whilst the Brothers enjoyed the visit it was a somewhat humbling experience to be talking to veterans who had experienced Dunkirk, Arctic Convoys, 10 years in the RAMC between 1938 and 1948 and so the list goes on.
Thanks to the brothers who took part in the visit, PO Chris Reeves, LS(WS) Darren Bamford, LAET Lee Gaskell, AB(WS) Johnny Griffiths and not forgetting Mr Steve Penberthy. Thanks also to former PTI’s Bob Penfold, Martin Wallace and Marv Jones who joined the RNRL contingent for the visit.
